Export the current Index Listing to a text file dialog

From an Index Listing (the results of any search) you can export the results in a variety of text formats. This is very handy if you want to use the data in another application, perhaps even running on another device, such as a hand held tablet or iThingie. Plain text (TXT) and comma delimited (CSV) can be used by just about every database application. You can even export as HTML in a table format that a web browser can use.

On the Index Listing WineBar...

...click the button or you can use the Export - Text File... menus.

You can choose to export as many or as few of the fields as you like. For example the Quick List button just includes, Vintage, Winery, Label, Variety, Maturity, Location and Stock. Handy as a minimal list that you can take with you when you go shopping.

Exported text files are always placed in c:\WineBase32\TextFile and you can create new files for every listing or add or more correctly append a file to the end of an existing one. After you create a file it will be opened in the most suitable application for displaying it. This is what a Quick List HTML table looks like.
