| Introduction |
I grew up in the countryside of New York State, a region known for hearty, though unrefined grapes. As a youth, wine took no more understanding than the rainbow, telling reds from whites with a glance. Only recently, having married a sweet damsel from California, did I learn more about wine. We have toured a little of the Canadian wine country, as well as many of California's various vineyards. I look forward to learning more about wine while here in Japan, a country with a wonderful blend of tradition and international awareness.
I will happily tell you more about the local scene as I discover it. I am still savoring the locally brewed beers and o-sake wine, while I seek the best ways to explore the other spirits here. Ever since I spent my honeymoon in Napa Valley, California, I have pursued a greater understanding of the poetry and passion born of grapes.
I propose a toast, to the fullness of life!
