Since the beginning of this decade, Brazil has shown a growing interest in the wine world. A number of associations and interst groups have been
formed around the country in order to discuss and taste wine. The main
wine production region in Brazil is Vinhedos Valley, in the south where
wine was first introduced in the country by Italian immigrants. Due to
this growing interest, we have had major investments by several wineries
and now we can be proud of some wines produced in the country. The main
wineries are: Miolo, Casa Valduga and Cave do Amadeu which have been
producing wine from quality European Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay grapes.
